Checklists and local choices
Checklist ticks and your separate advertising and analytics choices are stored in your browser’s localStorage. They stay on your device and are not sent to a checklist server. Clearing site data removes these choices. Advertising and analytics preferences expire after 180 days.
Adsterra advertising
Adsterra supplies the native and 300×250 banner placements. Advertising is enabled by default in every region, including the EEA, UK, Switzerland and locations that cannot be identified. It loads only on the production hostname and the four content pages. A saved choice to disable ads, a detected Global Privacy Control signal or unavailable browser storage prevents ad loading. Local previews, Pages preview addresses, this policy, the 404 page and standalone ad-frame visits do not load advertising.
On a phone-sized screen, a single 300×250 banner can appear after the main answer. On wider screens the same location uses a native placement. There are no popunder, sticky or sidebar placements in our integration.
When advertising loads, Adsterra and its advertising partners may receive your IP address, browser and device information, referring-page information and ad interactions. They may use cookies or similar identifiers. Their scripts are served from bauval.org and can contact additional advertising delivery domains. Read Adsterra’s privacy policy for its processing details.
Use Privacy settings in the footer to change your choice. Disabling ads reloads the page so scripts loaded earlier in the visit stop running.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics helps us understand which guides are read and how visitors arrive. It is enabled by default in every region on the production site, including this policy and the error page. It does not run on localhost, Pages preview addresses or ad frames. A saved choice to disable analytics, a detected Global Privacy Control signal or unavailable browser storage prevents the Google tag from loading.
Google may process page addresses and titles, referring pages, browser and device details, approximate location and interactions recorded by the property’s standard measurement settings. Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits. Our site code sends no names, email addresses or custom events. We disable Google signals and ad personalization in this integration; Google advertising consent signals remain denied.
You can disable analytics separately from ads through Privacy settings in the footer. Disabling an active tag reloads the page to stop further requests from it; this does not delete data already received by Google or existing cookies. Hosting and external resources
Cloudflare Pages delivers the site and may process network request information for delivery and security. Google Fonts serves the typography. Video thumbnails are requested from YouTube. Embedded players use youtube-nocookie.com and load only when you choose Play; the player may then process network and device information. Direct links to videos and external guides take you to services with their own privacy practices.
